Routely Presents: Osaka

Tied for the most-saved spot in Osaka. The castle itself is a rebuild, which some travelers find disappointing until they see the grounds, at which point they usually stop caring.

Two towers connected by a floating observation deck near the top. Thirteen separate travelers saved it for the view, and from the numbers, it's clearly the sunset spot people plan their evening around.

One of Japan's oldest shrines, and noticeably quieter than Osaka Castle despite being just as saved-worthy. The kind of spot that rewards the travelers who bother to go a little further out.

Small shrine, enormous lion-head stage that swallows the entrance whole. Ten travelers saved it independently, which tells you the photo is doing exactly what it looks like it's doing.

The canal, the neon, the giant mechanical crab sign. Tied for the most-saved spot in the city, and honestly the rare tourist-famous place that's just as good for the actual eating as it is for the photo.

Osaka's kitchen, basically. Also tied for most-saved, which makes sense once you're standing in it: a covered market street where you eat your way down the block one stall at a time instead of sitting down anywhere.

The retro neighborhood under the Tsutenkaku tower, built to look like old Osaka because it basically is. Seventeen travelers saved it, mostly for the kushikatsu, some just for the strange, slightly worn-down charm of the place.

This is the one that made us want to include an Osaka guide at all. Three different travelers, independently, saved the same restaurant tucked into Amerikamura. No coordination, no influence from each other, just three people who happened to find the same place worth writing down.
