    Routely Presents: Rome

    July 28, 2026

Same method as our other city guides: every spot here comes from real Rome trips planned in Routely, and we only kept the ones at least three different travelers saved on their own.

    The essentials

    Pantheon Rome

    Pantheon Rome

    Saved by 37+ travelers

Tied for the most-saved spot in the city, and the only one on this list that's free to walk into. Two thousand years old and still the best-preserved building from ancient Rome. It's a five-minute stop that somehow nobody rushes through.

    Colosseum

    Colosseum

    Saved by 37+ travelers

The other most-saved spot, and the one everyone assumed would top this list on its own. Book the ticket ahead, the line for same-day entry is not a line you want to be standing in during July.

    Trevi Fountain

    Trevi Fountain

    Saved by 36+ travelers

Thirty-six travelers saved this, which tracks, but almost none of the trip photos we've seen show it empty. Go at night or right at sunrise if the coin-toss crowd shot isn't the memory you're after.

    Roman Forum

    Roman Forum

    Saved by 35+ travelers

Right next to the Colosseum and saved almost as often, but it's the one people budget the least time for and then regret. It's a genuinely huge site, not a quick add-on between two bigger stops.

    Where to eat and wander

    Piazza Navona

    Piazza Navona

    Saved by 35+ travelers

Saved almost as much as the Colosseum, but it's not a monument, it's just a long baroque square full of street artists, fountains, and gelato lines. The kind of spot that ends up in the trip with no fixed amount of time allotted to it, and that's the right call.

    Trastevere

    Trastevere

    Saved by 26+ travelers

The neighborhood twenty-six separate travelers saved as a whole, not for one specific restaurant or church, just to wander. Cobblestone streets, ivy on the buildings, dinner that runs long because nobody's rushing you out.

    Campo de Fiori

    Campo de Fiori

    Saved by 15+ travelers

A produce market by morning, a square full of bars by night. Fifteen travelers saved it for that exact double life, and it's a genuinely different place depending on when you show up.

    Testaccio Market

    Testaccio Market

    Saved by 6+ travelers

The pick furthest from the tourist circuit on this list, and it shows in the count. Six travelers found their way to this covered food market in a residential neighborhood most guidebooks skip entirely. That's usually a good sign, not a red flag.
