Tokyo's oldest temple, and the second most-saved spot overall. Go before 8am if you want the photo without a few hundred people in it. We mean that literally, not as a travel-blog cliche.

Yes, it's the crossing from every Tokyo video you've ever seen. It's also genuinely worth the five minutes, especially paired with Shibuya Sky for the view down onto it, which is exactly what most of the trips in our data do.

A forested walk that somehow makes Harajuku, right next door, feel like a different city entirely. The kind of spot that photographs like nothing and feels like everything once you're actually there.

The single most-saved food spot in Tokyo, full stop. A tiny alley of yakitori stalls tucked behind Shinjuku station where most counters seat about four people. We get why it gets saved this much: it's the platonic ideal of 'hole in the wall,' except everyone already knows about it.

Six narrow alleys, roughly two hundred impossibly tiny bars, most seating five people max. Not for everyone, some charge a cover just to sit down, but the travelers who save it tend to save it hard.

This is the one that made us want to write this post. Three different travelers, independently, saved the exact same specialty coffee roastery in a quiet corner of Ryogoku. Nobody told them to. When strangers converge on the same tiny cafe with zero coordination, it's usually worth trusting.
